Update on Short-Term-Rentals (STRs)
in Peshastin UGA
View the new Chelan County Code RE: Short Term Rentals here .
Short-term rental land uses are commercial uses subject to all provisions of Section 11.88.290 except where expressly stated otherwise
For the Peshastin Urban Growth Area (UGA), no new STRs allowed in residential zones (except perhaps in a planned development), and none grandfathered, unless all required conditions have been met. Below are a few points that apply directly to the Peshastin Community effective September 27, 2021:
• New short-term rentals are limited in the Peshastin UGA and allowed only in commercial zones.
• Existing short-term rentals need to meet criteria regarding historic use as a short-term rental, proper payment of taxes, and compliance with operational standards. Permits need to be obtained as well.
For more details, read the new code, Chapter 11.04.020 of the District Use Chart .
