"One of the items my dad had kept was an essay he wrote in 1990 for an English class while he was in the Navy stationed in Hawaii. I guess he was feeling homesick, so he decided to write his essay on his sense of place and growing up in Peshastin. It is truly a love letter to the community and a fascinating glimpse into what life was like in the town 34 years ago. My dad was eleven when he lived in Peshastin and was 25 when he wrote the essay. He lived on an orchard and helped his family pick the fruit in the summer. He speaks of his adventures, involvements and general observations of the town through the eyes of a boy. - He currently lives in Yacolt, WA with his wife Ruth."
